So what's different?... Training group & Environment

"Them"

Health clubs: In attendance is usually anyone who turns up and pays. Some 'hate' exercise and are just there to lose weight and a some enjoy getting a sweat. Athletes aren’t specifically catered for.
Back street gyms: Can have an air of macho environment about them. Environment often about who has the biggest muscles in the gym.

Train with other competitive athletes who share ambitions of improvement. Each athlete has their own targets and is encouraged to improve. We encourage a friendly, fun and 'get the job done' atmosphere.

So what's different?... Instructor Qualifications & Experience with Athletes

Mobirise

"Them"

Usually REPS qualified or a Personal Trainer who specializes in non-athletes weight loss, toning. These type of instructors NORMALLY DO S&C AS A SIDE THING WITH LITTLE TO NO SPECIALISED SKILLS WORKING WITH ATHLETES. Most will impose non-athlete methods and processes onto athletes because that is what they know.

So what's different?... Technical feedback, attention to detail, instructor focus

Mobirise

"Them"

Typically others are about just getting their clients moving and getting a sweat. If people are getting exercise technique wrong but they are enjoying the session and getting a sweat they are generally just encouraged to 'keep going' or some other motivational statement.

Little or no focus is given to the long-term development of the participant. This is fine in this environment because the participant also only cares about getting a sweat on. They have their regular attendees but many people come and go when the mood suits them or their motivation ends.

We aim for every exercise rep to be quality and guide athletes on how to improve. Doing 300 bad reps of an exercise and getting a sweat on is not encouraged. We get you to do 1 good one first... then after doing a good rep we build from there.

The focus is on development of the athlete. There are short-, medium-, and long-term objectives that aim to be met. If things aren't going quite right we investigate why and adapt if necessary to steer back toward the goals. Many of our athletes train with us for years and not simply on a whim.
